To everyone who came to the Stopover in Lewes at the weekend…
THANK YOU! That was a really incredible weekend. Thank you also to all of the bands who played, all who took part, in whatever capacity, in after-shows, side-shows, fringe events, stalls and other activities – and especially to the good people of Lewes Town.
Here’s a video VEVO filmed on-site including interviews with some of the performers…
You may have heard by now that we really like Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. In fact, we love them so much that we heard their new record, went mental, and begged them to let us release said album* on our own record label, Gentlemen of the Road. This will be the first non-Mumford & Sons release that we’ve ever done, and there’s no better way to kick things off than with this magical record, which we think will be dearly loved for a long time, not just by us, but by lots of people. ??
So we wanted you to hear this from us. Listen to Better Days. You’ll have a better day. And listen to Life Is Hard, because you’ll never celebrate life’s complications with more joy or abandon. And listen to If I Were Free for a real journey. They’re just amazing songs, by an amazing band, and we’re really excited.
If you’re coming to the Stopover in Lewes this weekend:
1) We can’t wait to see you there.
2) Please be sure to spend some time combing through the Gentlemenoftheroad.com website. It’s got loads of really important information on what you can and can’t bring, wristband collection, parking etc, as well as lots of fun stuff too including aftershow and fringe events, things to do around town, details of the GOTR Pop-up Merch Shop on Lewes High Street and more.
In particular, please be sure to bring 300ml bottles of water because it is s.e.r.i.o.u.s.l.y hot. There are lots of places to fill them up in the main site. Be sun safe people.
